Microneedling in Camp Hill, PA
Services
Microneedling at Restorativ Health & Beauty works by prompting your skin to rebuild itself. Using very fine sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels, it triggers your body’s natural repair response, which produces fresh collagen and elastin. The result is genuine improvement in texture, tone, and firmness, built from your own skin rather than added to it.
It is one of the most versatile treatments we offer, and one of the few advanced options that is safe across all skin tones. For anyone dealing with the appearance of acne scarring, uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores, or early loss of firmness, it is usually where we start.
How Microneedling Works
Your skin responds to injury by repairing itself, and microneedling uses that mechanism deliberately. The device passes over your skin creating thousands of tiny, precisely controlled channels. Each heals quickly, but collectively they signal your body that repair is needed.
That signal triggers what is sometimes called collagen induction. Your skin ramps up production of collagen and elastin, the structural proteins responsible for firmness and elasticity, both of which decline steadily as we age. Over the following weeks and months, that new collagen fills in and remodels the skin from within.
This is why microneedling is particularly effective on scarring and texture. Rather than sanding down the surface, it rebuilds the structure underneath, which is what those concerns actually require. Treatment depth is adjusted to your skin and goals, since deeper concerns like scarring need to be reached differently from surface texture.
What Microneedling Can Address
We commonly recommend it for:
• The appearance of acne scarring and other scarring
• Uneven or rough texture
• Enlarged-looking pores
• Fine lines and early wrinkles
• Loss of firmness and mild laxity
• Uneven tone and dullness
• Post-breakout marks
• Stretch marks on the body
Because depth and protocol are adjustable, the treatment can be tailored toward whichever concern matters most.

Recovery and Aftercare
Expect your skin to look flushed immediately afterward, similar to a moderate sunburn, and to feel warm and tight. That typically settles substantially within twenty-four to forty-eight hours, though it can last a little longer with deeper treatment. Some mild swelling or light flaking over the following days is normal.
Aftercare matters more than people expect. Leave your skin alone for the first day, avoiding makeup so the channels can close. Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, swimming pools, and anything that makes you sweat heavily for a day or two. Stay off retinoids, acid exfoliants, and vitamin C until your skin has settled, usually about a week.
Daily broad-spectrum SPF is essential once your skin has calmed. Freshly treated skin is more vulnerable to UV, and sun exposure at this stage can cause pigmentation you did not have before.
Results Build Over Months
This deserves emphasis, because expectations are where microneedling most often disappoints people.
You will not walk out with transformed skin. Once the initial redness settles, many clients notice their skin looks fresher and feels smoother within a week or two, which is genuine but modest. The real results come later. Collagen production takes time, building over the weeks following each session and continuing for months.
Most people see meaningful change around the three month mark, with improvement continuing beyond that. That is also why microneedling works best as a course. We typically recommend three to six sessions spaced roughly four to six weeks apart, with established scarring generally needing more than surface texture.
If you want an immediate visible change for an event next week, this is not the treatment. If you want your skin genuinely better in six months, it is an excellent choice.
What to Expect
Your appointment is straightforward, with numbing applied for comfort:
Consultation and skin assessment
We examine your skin, review your medical history, medications, and any previous reactions, then plan depth and protocol.
Cleansing and numbing
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed, then a topical numbing cream is applied and given time to take effect.
Microneedling
The device is passed over the treatment area in sections. Most people feel a prickling or vibrating sensation rather than sharp pain, with more sensitivity over bonier areas like the forehead.
Soothing serums
Calming, hydrating products are applied, which absorb especially well through freshly created channels.
Protection and aftercare
We finish with protective products and go through your aftercare in detail.
Most facial sessions take around an hour including numbing.

Adding PRF for Enhanced Results
Microneedling can be paired with PRF, platelet-rich fibrin drawn from a small sample of your own blood. Applied during the treatment, the growth factors in PRF reach the deeper layers through the channels the needling creates, adding your body’s own healing signals to the collagen response already underway.
It is a natural pairing, using nothing but your own biology, and clients often choose it when addressing scarring or wanting the strongest result from a course.
Why Restorativ Health & Beauty
Microneedling depth is a clinical decision. Too shallow achieves little, too deep risks damage and pigmentation, and the right depth varies by area, skin type, and concern. Restorativ Health & Beauty was founded by a registered nurse and is guided by licensed medical providers, including a physician assistant who leads our clinical care, so your treatment is planned and performed with genuine clinical judgment.
We also assess candidacy carefully. Active or inflamed acne, active infections or cold sores in the area, recent isotretinoin use, pregnancy, certain blood-thinning medications, and a history of keloid scarring all affect whether and when we treat.
Frequently Asked Questions
It is very manageable. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and most people describe the sensation as prickling or vibration rather than sharp pain. Bonier areas such as the forehead feel more intense.
Expect redness resembling moderate sunburn for around one to two days, sometimes longer with deeper treatment. Mild swelling or light flaking can follow. Most people return to normal activity the next day.
Skin often looks fresher within a week or two, but the real change comes from collagen, which builds over months. Most people see meaningful improvement around three months, continuing beyond that.
Usually three to six, spaced roughly four to six weeks apart. Established scarring generally needs more sessions than surface texture.
Yes, and this is one of its advantages. Unlike IPL and laser treatments, microneedling does not target melanin, so it is considerably safer across the full range of skin tones when performed at appropriate depth by a trained provider.
Not over inflamed or pustular breakouts, since needling across them can spread bacteria and worsen inflammation. We would usually settle active acne first, then treat the marks and scarring it leaves behind
