Peels and Resurfacing in
Camp Hill, PA
Services
Peels and resurfacing treatments at Restorativ Health & Beauty are how we address the concerns a facial cannot reach. By accelerating your skin’s natural renewal, these treatments refine texture, even out tone, and improve clarity at a level surface care does not achieve. They are our most results-driven skin services, and the ones we turn to when someone wants genuine change rather than maintenance.
Every treatment is performed in a medically directed setting, with the type and strength selected for your skin rather than pulled off a menu.
How Resurfacing Works
Your skin replaces itself continuously, shedding old cells and generating new ones on roughly a four-week cycle. As we age that process slows, and damage accumulates faster than it clears. The result is what people recognize as tired skin: rough texture, uneven pigmentation, dullness, visible pores, and fine lines.
Resurfacing works by accelerating that renewal deliberately. A controlled solution or technique removes the damaged outer layers, prompting your skin to replace them with fresher, more evenly pigmented cells. Deeper treatments go further, stimulating collagen production, which improves firmness and the appearance of scarring over time.
The controlled part is the whole point. Anyone can strip skin. Doing it at the right depth for a particular person, and no further, is what separates a good result from irritation or pigmentation problems.
Our Peel and Resurfacing Treatments
We offer a range so we can match the treatment to your concern and your tolerance for downtime:
• Chemical peels. Medical-grade solutions applied to resurface the skin, supporting smoother texture, more balanced-looking pigmentation, and refined tone, available in varying strengths.
• VI Peel. A well-established medical peel commonly chosen for tone, texture, and the appearance of pigmentation and acne concerns.
• BioRePeel. A resurfacing option often selected when clients want renewal with relatively little visible peeling.
• Body peels. Available in smaller and larger treatment areas, for concerns beyond the face.
• MicroPeels. Our combination treatment, pairing a chemical peel with microneedling in one session.
• ToxBooster. A treatment on our resurfacing menu your provider can talk you through at your consultation.
• Dermaplaning. Physical rather than chemical resurfacing, using a sterile blade to exfoliate the surface with no downtime.
If you are unsure which suits you, that is what an assessment is for.

What Resurfacing Can Address
These treatments are commonly chosen for uneven skin tone and the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage and dark spots, rough or uneven texture, the look of enlarged pores, fine lines, the appearance of acne scarring, congestion, and general dullness that has not responded to gentler treatment.
Not every concern needs the strongest option, and not every skin can tolerate one. Your provider will recommend based on what your skin can handle safely, which sometimes means starting lighter.
Choosing the Right Strength
This is where honesty matters most. Lighter resurfacing gives you a refresh with minimal visible peeling, and you can return to normal life immediately. Medium and deeper treatments produce more significant change, but come with real downtime, typically several days of redness, tightness, and visible flaking.
There is no way around that tradeoff. If you want meaningful improvement in texture or established pigmentation, your skin has to renew, and renewal is visible while it happens. We will tell you plainly what to expect so you can plan around it.
Skin tone also factors in. Deeper resurfacing carries a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in richer skin tones, so treatment selection and preparation need particular care. We assess this properly rather than applying the same protocol to everyone, and we would rather recommend a gentler course over more sessions than risk a pigmentation problem.
What to Expect
However you begin, the process follows the same careful sequence:
Private consultation
We talk through what you want to achieve, examine the area, review your medical and surgical history, and give you an honest assessment of what is realistic.
Color matching and planning
Pigment is selected and custom-mixed to match your skin, and we plan placement, shape, and dimension together.
Patch testing
We test for pigment sensitivity beforehand, a sensible precaution given pigment remains in your skin.
The procedure
Topical numbing is used for comfort. Pigment is applied methodically, at a pace that keeps you comfortable.
Healing and refinement
Detailed aftercare is provided, and we schedule a follow-up to assess healing. Additional sessions refine color and detail as needed.

Protecting Your Results
Sun protection after resurfacing is not a suggestion. Freshly resurfaced skin is more vulnerable to UV damage, and unprotected exposure in the weeks afterward can trigger exactly the pigmentation you were treating. Daily broad-spectrum SPF protects the result you have paid for. Following the rest of your aftercare matters too: keep the skin moisturized, resist picking at flaking skin, and stay off strong actives until we say so.
Why Restorativ Health & Beauty
Resurfacing carries more risk than any other skin treatment we offer, which makes clinical judgment essential. Restorativ Health & Beauty was founded by a registered nurse and is guided by licensed medical providers, so your treatment happens in a medically directed setting where depth, timing, and candidacy are properly assessed.
We build courses rather than selling single sessions, we are candid about downtime before you commit, and we will tell you when a gentler approach would serve you better. Because we also offer facials, microneedling, and IPL, we can build a plan that fits your concern.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends entirely on strength. Light resurfacing may involve nothing more than mild redness for a few hours. Medium and deeper treatments typically mean several days of redness, tightness, and visible flaking. We will tell you exactly what to expect before you book.
With many treatments, yes, and that is the point. Peeling is your skin shedding damaged layers. Some options are designed to produce renewal with less visible peeling, so if that matters for your schedule, tell us.
Most concerns respond best to a course rather than a single treatment, typically spaced a few weeks apart so your skin can recover between sessions. We will map it out at your assessment.
Many are, with appropriate selection and preparation. Deeper resurfacing does carry a higher risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in richer skin tones, so we assess carefully and often recommend a gentler course over more sessions.
Only with proper timing. Because peeling and redness are visible, allow at least two weeks between a medium or deeper treatment and any important occasion. If your event is sooner, a facial is the safer choice.
Usually by pausing retinoids and strong exfoliants for several days beforehand and avoiding sun exposure in the week before. Tell us about any medications, recent treatments, or history of cold sores.
